Who we are
This website is run by Cog & Lever. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Cog & Lever. You can contact us about privacy at hello@cogandlever.com.
This policy covers this website and enquiries you send us. If we do a project for you, how we handle your business's data is set out in the statement of work for that project.
What we collect
We only collect personal information you choose to give us:
- details you send through our contact form: your name, email address, business name, industry, phone number (if you add it) and your message
- anything you send us by email or tell us in a call or meeting.
Please don't send us sensitive information, such as health details, through the form or by email. You can ask a general question without giving your full name, but we need an email address or phone number to reply.
This website doesn't use analytics or tracking cookies at present. If that changes, we'll update this policy first. The site is hosted by Google (Firebase Hosting), which may keep basic technical logs, such as IP addresses, browser types and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't use these logs to identify you.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry and arrange a chat
- prepare a quote or proposal you ask for
- keep a record of our conversations and any work we do for you.
We'll only send you marketing if you've agreed to it or the Spam Act allows it, and every message has a working unsubscribe.
How we store it
The contact form opens your own email app with your message ready to send, and it arrives in our business email inbox.Our email provider may store information on servers outside Australia.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and access is limited to our team. We keep it only as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires for business and tax records, then delete it.
Who we share it with
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers we need in order to reply to you and run the business, such as our email and form providers, or when the law requires us to.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing hello@cogandlever.com. There's no charge to make a request. We may need to confirm who you are first.
Complaints
If you're worried about how we've handled your information, please email us first and we'll try to put it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

We'll update this page when the way we handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
